Logan Lerman is coming back as a demigod in "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters."
Based on the 2006 novel (the second installment in Rick Riordan's best-selling
book series), young Percy finds himself on the hunt for the Golden Fleece, which will help protect him and the rest of his friends (Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson) living at Camp Half Blood.
A son of Poseidon, Percy also discovers
that he has a cyclops half-brother, Tyson (Douglas Smith), whom Percy doesn't initially accept as his family at first.
"Sea of Monsters" stays closer to its source material than its predecessor did. "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" was criticized by fans of the books series for straying too much from the novel on which it was based. It also underperformed somewhat at the box office, grossing just $88.7 million domestically against a $95 million budget.
In an interview with CBSNews.com, Lerman says audiences can expect a lot more this time around.
"The monsters are bigger in this film. The action is bigger," Lerman said. "It looks pretty friggin' cool."
